What is Stargate?
Stargate is a very very awesome movie. The premise is that an alien, Ra, came to earth a long time ago and took a human for a host and then enslaved the planet. He used the Stargate, a very large gate that opens a wormhole to Earth's sister planet, a desert-like planet, to transplant a small population of people from ancient Egypt on Earth. There was a rebellion from the people of Earth, who buried their Stargate and cut off contact from Ra, until it was unearthed in Giza in 1928. It wasn't until years later when Dr Daniel Jackson, archaeologist and egyptologist, deciphered the symbols on the Stargate and allowed it to be opened once again. Dr Jackson is sent through the Stargate along with a group of Air Force soldiers, including the hard-nosed and suicidal Colonel Jack O'Neil, to see what's on the other side. After they step through the Stargate, they embark on an adventure unlike any other, to destroy the evil Ra and free his slaves.
It's an amazing movie with that keeps me glued from start to end, and I never get tired of watching it. To find out more about the movie, visit the IMDB's
